Back to basics: WHAT? Drinking Water

Good Monday morning, to all of you.
Having been through this myself, I thought my readers would benefit in going to back to basics:
- What
- Why
- Where
- When and
- How

What are we talking about here? - Drinking Water.
None of us will doubt that we need water. We need it every day. We need it to survive. We need it at cell level. Each and every little cell in our body needs water every day and all day. They needed it for their exciting and wonderful processes that keep us alive, healthy and young.

I am not talking magic here. I am talking biology, microbiology and plain and simple anatomy.

We can debate how much water a person needs. We can discuss, dispute and argue what water is the best water for us and how to make our water the best. But that's the topic for next time.

Today, I'd like to provide my readers with some basic information as to what, why, where, when and how when it comes to drinking water - water in our taps
Tap water. What is in it? What should be in it?

Everything in our lives is governed by standards, processes, laws and regulations. We are social creatures and live among other social creatures. We are divided into countries, continents, governments, languages, cultures, etc. Water is one of the few things that unites us. We all need water. We all need drinking water. We all need clean drinking water that would not make us sick and would not cause us any problems or inconveniences. That's the ideal situation, isn't it?

World Health Organisation (WHO) has established Drinking Water Standards Guidelines for drinking-water quality, fourth edition, 2011

According to these guidelines, our drinking water (anywhere in the world. However, UK, USA, Japan and Australia were assessed on most points) can contain a whole kaleidoscope of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, additives and organisms. We can add the quality of reservoirs, pipes, plumbing, climate, etc to this smorgasbord of ingredients - the final product is the water in our glass
What's in our drinking water?
Scary stuff? Not really or let's say, not really researched and has not really produced any time-proven outcomes to substantiate any serious claims. However, being free-willed individuals we need to be equipped to make our own informed decision as to what to drink or not to drink and what to give our family members.

NEXT TIME: Why we need to drink water? How much of it we need every day? Why we need to 'clean' our clean tap water? STAY TUNED
Simple solution. Stay tuned
